My name is Rik Moran and I am a FA qualified Level 2 Coach, who has been a volunteer in Non-League football for over 10 years at Basildon United and Southend Manor Football Clubs. During that time I have coached adults, youngsters, boys and girls at various levels and age groups.
The knowledge and experience that I have gained along the way has been invaluable and I would love to pass on some of those skills and experiences to younger children.
I have a player-centred philosophy and believes their development should come first. They participate in sport to have Fun, Learn and Feel Worthy and it’s the coach’s job to create the environment to prepare them for participation so they can express themselves.
I’m continuing my coaching qualifications and am currently enrolled on The FA Futsal Level 1 and Goalkeeping Coaching Level 1 courses, after which I plan to continue with the FA Youth module 2 and 3 and The FA Youth Award before moving onto my UEFA B License.
I’m a supporter of The FA Coaching Licence scheme, which whilst currently voluntary I think is great for coaches in the UK and is only a matter of time before the FA make it compulsory. To obtain a Coaching License you need valid coaching qualifications, valid Safeguarding and Emergency aid, valid DBS CRB CRC Check and complete a number of hours of CPD (continued professional development) each year. The FA Coaching Licence is a great way for coaches to keep all their qualifications valid, and improve on their training and give parent, schools and other piece of mind about the coaches.
Here at Active Soccer we can safely say that we offer a fun, inclusive and healthy experience where you can meet new friends, learn new skills and have a great time.
We are looking to start weekly Skill Centre Coaching.
