Active Walking Football

Who are we?

We are Active FC. An independent   Walking Football (WF) group who meet on a Tuesday Night 19:00 – 21:00 every week at the Active Soccer Sports Centre in Sefton Lane Maghull. Our members range in age but most competitions we enter stipulate 50+.
However we are a friendly club and welcome anyone to our Tuesday sessions who want to try out, or reconnect with the beautiful game. It cost nothing to pop down and have a chat with a couple of the members to see if the group is for you.

Although conducted in a friendly manner , you will find the same old competitive edge you get whenever a group get together for a game of football. You can put in as much effort as you feel able, no one will judge or comment on your ability or fitness.

Our current membership is all male but we welcome everyone, irrespective of gender, age or ability to our sessions. You can even just come down to watch whilst enjoying a cuppa.

Tuesday Sessions

Our Tuesday Night sessions take the format of a number of 7 minute 5 a side games, dependant on the numbers who turn up. We play walking football but don’t be fooled by the name or the Bank adverts you may have seen on TV. If we have a large turnout we play on two 5 a side 3G all weather pitches and rotate the sides accordingly after 10 minutes. For a smaller turn out we will play 7 minute games on one pitch so everyone is guaranteed a decent amount of playing time.

Competitions

You will find WF has grown in popularity very quickly over the last two years, with competitions running pretty much all year round. We have played in competitions from Blackburn to Stoke, in venues as varied as our home ground at Active Soccer in Maghull to the Training Complex at the Etihad Stadium Manchester.

The competitions are a great way to make likeminded people and we have forged some very strong friendships as a result of our involvement in them.
