Active Active FC Over 50’s

Walking Football was launched at the centre in September 2014 and it was the very first walking football group of its kind on Merseyside.

The group has continuously developed since and Active FC was formed.  We have had the help and support of the Liverpool County FA to grow the scheme.

We have successfully held a Walking Football Festival where teams from Everton FC, Manchester City, Wigan Athletic, Rochdale and the Lifeline Project Manchester to name a few took part.

Our coaches from the centre deliver weekly walking football sessions across Sefton.

Mark Whitwood of Active Soccer has seen the growth of the game from 2014 and said ‘Walking Football is becoming increasingly popular and the sessions that are being delivered are having such a positive impact on encouraging people to live a healthy and active lifestyle. Tuesday nights at the centre are fantastic, the atmosphere and spirit of the group typify what Walking Football is all about. Friendships, exercise and mental well-being are just some of the lasting benefits that this form of the game is encouraging.’

If you are interested in finding out more information or taking part please call the centre.

Sessions run every Tuesday evening from 7pm.
